BACK TO NORMALITY…

So after a bad day we had a great night seeing Henry Rollins in Wolverhampton then a sad night on Friday letting moo know.  But the weekend got better and we spent great time together.  Even did some work on the house.  None of us wanted to get up today though!

GOODBYE MY CHAN…

Today we had to do something very hard.  We said our final good night to our beloved dog, Wolfy.  Her health since Saturday was failing rapidly and an X-Ray this morning showed several tumours around her lungs.  It was unexpected and is devastating.  I spent most of the night holding her and stroking her while she cried with each breath, struggling to breathe.  This morning I was in no doubt as to what was in store for my friend and the first member of my family. Last night she refused food yet again but did take little bites of everything she was never allowed; chocolate and cookies – I even cooked us a steak to share.  I feel compelled to write this as I don’t want time to erode my sadness and upset and loss at this moment.  I know she was not human but I loved that animal like a child.  And as her Dad I had to be there when she left us.  I held her as she slipped away.  I don’t know how I am going to tell Mills.  Heather has been so strong in all of this, she is going to be a wonderful mother.  I just needed to get this out while it’s raw.  The house is already different. Rest now my Wolfy-Chan.

NOT LONG NOW…

Christmas is coming and my wife is getting … heavier with child.  The baby baking is going well and apart from being very tired, Chip is loving every minute of it.  Her trip to and from California for Thanksgiving went very well and the jet lag is nearly now over.  I missed her a huge amount but it did give me some time to progress things on the house and grow a beard for a few days.

Got the news today that Moo has nits again, just in time for her show stopping performance of Alien #4 tomorrow night at the School Xmas production.  We’ve been playing loads of new games in the car recently, from naming car manufactures as fast as we can on the journey to and from School to the old favourite – the yes or no game.  She has got so good at it that apart from always nodding or shaking her head, she is pretty quick at a response that doesn’t have a yes or no.  The format is now familiar – the game always starts with ‘Is your name called house?’ and is referred to as the somefing or somefing game.  I’m very excited to see her on stage, in full command of her prose and perform.  I might have to hold back the baying crowds after the performance!…

AND BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE…

BREAKING NEWS:: Peanut Clarke-Trevis is now ready to meet the world’s Press at last!  We have informed the Royal family, the heads of state, some guy called Steve and now you dear reader that my wife, my beautiful and wonderful wife is with child – and yes it is mine, I was there and remember the look of horror on her face.  We are over the moon and most of the local stars and to be fair it comes at a time when the world needs some bloody good news.  So there you go, forget the sinking economy and a bleak double dip digestive, we have the bestist news to share with you all!!!!  He/She but not they (hence Peanut) will be coming out; wearing shades and a Mastodon T-Shirt around May time next year so please try not to get the paps outside the house just yet.

The news has been met with a great deal of very wonderful smiles and warm wishes and we are very happy – so thank you all.  We are so looking forward to raising a mini version of us, when Ginger and Evil combine!  Millie thinks that the Peanut is male and is already rearranging the bedrooms in her mind to accomodate the changes and furniture.  She is very excited to become a big sister and read a story to Peanut last night with goodnight kisses.  She warned her Cousin not to shoot an imaginary cannon into Heather today because she had a baby in her belly!  So far so good and we are all swept up with joy and happiness.  Just need to get stocked up with sleep and then I can use it later – that’s how it works doesn’t it?…….

HOLA EVERYONE

Sorry about the time off with good behaviour but it would appear that blogging just hasn’t been top of my to do list for a while.  During the last black out we’ve had a visit from California, a trip around the British isles, hell at work and a lot of stuff that I now cannot remember.  Shame that as there have been a lot of things going on, but rest assured dear reader now that my brain is less of a muddle and the blood pressure is hopefully on the way down, I shall endevour to enlighten you with further volumes of our life…

HELL TO THE YES!…

Chip just passed the life in the UK test! A test that everyone I know in the UK apart from 5 pints would fail by the way! Only one thing now to do to get the next visa, a thousand pounds! I’m sure its about time Mill went down the mines….we are dead happy and are having a light lunch at a Mexican place to give her a taste of home…yay!…

YESTERDAY…

Favourite thing:  Taking Mills into School and her doing the New Zealand Haka in the car, not favourite thing working 12 hours again and then waking up this morning at 6…my body hates me at the moment…We are in the final processes of splitting the companies – just about a terrabyte of data to decide whose is whose and split up – its like breaking up with a girlfriend, we’ve got to the DVD collection.  And I’ve got two weeks off in 5 days so life at work is ‘interesting’ but will eventually be satisfying…There will only be about 8 people left from the old company by the end of the month (over 400 when I started).  Sad, very sad.  The machines that once produced millions of metres of the worlds best foil products are either gone leaving empty buildings or are slated for removal over the next 6 months – destination India.  Can’t help feeling that I took the right decision to stay on with the new company as by all reports Europe is in turmoil and I don’t think I would have been employed for very long.  But otherwise, I’m enjoying being site IT superhero/villain and the plans are coming off albeit it a little bit intensely as we go through the final push…now if I can just get the cloning machine working…

ANOTHER FIRST…

Just spoke to mills who has sufferered the English summertime curse – a sting from a wasp! On her toe as well! I offered to go round and find it but she said that the wind had taken him away.  Thwarted again by a wasp, I’ll get you!…

JOB DONE…

Tonight we fitted a new kitchen sink tap and a new upstairs toilet.  Really makes a difference to our happiness as these two minor plumbing jobs have been a serious pain.  Thank you Paul once again for some fine spanner wrangling!

OH SHOOT…

After the house smelling like a cess pit everytime one of us take a shower I finally had a chance to rod the drains and remove this summers soap and hair biscuits…gross but has to be done.  I think we have a blockage in between the kitchen and the front but no matter how much chili I eat, its not shifting.  Strange, that normally shifts any blockage…fnar fnar.  We’ve also had a chance to move some cupboards around in the kitchen exposing a previously unseen air vent for a (Mr) tumble dryer.  Which is flipping ace as we have previously had the tumble dryer in the loft which has been a right royal pain in the bum.  Mills and chip made monkey bread and cake balls which just isn’t fair to a man on the fast track to being a little rotund.  It’s also wolfy’s birthday today so we all had treats before the thunder and lightning began.  Tonight we are scoping out the things we can do during our time with pat and Ron in September and we are getting very excited!
